Monks Cross, York
01 / 2019
Kingston Joinery were the specialists of choice for Tolent Construction on this £7.5m 80-bedroom hotel development in York - Travelodge’s sixth hotel in the city.
Our team were on site for a total of four months as the project progressed ahead of opening in November 2018.
The £237,000 contract saw our team contracted to an internal joinery fit-out throughout the three-storey development.
Craig O’Leary, Managing Director of Kingston Joinery, said he was delighted to be again chosen by the Tyneside-based commercial building specialist, having previously worked on hotels and care homes for Tolent.
He said: “Monks Cross has developed as an increasingly popular retail and leisure destination on the outskirts of York in recent years so the addition of a sizable hotel is significant. It is expected to host close to 40,000 visitors a year and bring a lot of extra spend to the city.
“With that in mind it was particularly pleasing to be selected for this project and we know that our track record of delivery on similar projects was key.
“We have also previously worked for Tolent on the Hilton Garden Hotel in Sunderland, so they knew that they could rely on us to work to high standards, on time and budget. We of course hope to again work together in the future.”
